Metrology
METROLOGY is the science and the technique of measurements, its aim is to make and to produce measurements.
MEASURE is first of all INFORMATION: in fact we measure characteristics and properties of objects and phenomena to know better and then use nature and man's products.
Once we have acquired the information, we use it to come to a decision; in practice there is no decision or quality organization without previous measurements.
We measure to decide:

if the project's tolerances have been respected

when to intervene on a process according to the measured values of some specific parameters

whether to accept a supply offered with guaranteed characteristics

if to intervene on a system because some of its characteristics may reach dangerous thresholds
The activities carried out are applicable to:

dimensional controls on training programs,

on 3D measuring centers, statistical analysis, r

everse engineering, and virtual cataloguing with reporting purposes,

calibrations on 3D's measuring centers.
